The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) announces  The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) states that Wearing swimming goggles, its surface of lens must be flat. 60% of goggles in the market might hurt your vision, even 0 power lens.

To understand commercial quality and safety goggles, 15 goggles (no degree) samples have been purchased from sporting goods shops, department stores and supermarkets in the Taipei area.  9 of 16 samples failed on test result list that both surface of lens and its refractive, done by BSMI.

BSMI pointed out that this is in accordance with CNS 14614 test protocol, "goggles national standards" and the refractive power of the lens surface", "impact strength", "defective" and "leaks" are four quality test, and according to commodity labeling method check mark. The test results, in terms of quality have nine non-flat surface of the lens products do not meet the criteria.  One of 9 has a refractive power more than standard tolerance range.  For quality testing failed part, has a deadline in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act to improve, recall or destroy.

BSMI Chong Su-Qin, deputy director of the proposed purchase goggles should be selected for the flat surface of the lens of the swimming goggles, because of the different refractive medium of water and air.

Lens with Spherical surface might have hundreds power added to a Plano goggles in the water.  For a long term wearing, might have dizziness, nauseated, and other symptoms.  It will seriously damage the eyes vision, which consumers should concern more about when purchased.
